I hope this message finds you well. As we step into second year of our ANMDA executive team, I want to take a moment to reflect on our progress, acknowledge ongoing challenges, and set our sights on the future.
In the last year, we have witnessed significant strides in ANMDA membership expansion, webinar activities with record number of online participants with excellent feedback, and engagement from colleagues all around Australia. Also, had memorable opportunities to meet up F2F with colleagues in NSW, Victoria, SA as well as in WA which helped in renewing our bonding, collaboration, participation, and mutual understandings.
Launch of our website with a completely new look and more user-friendly technicalities for our registered members as well as to those of us in admin requiring to make regular updates in our website. Would like to thank here all of us involved directly and indirectly, in providing valuable feedback, suggestions and to our Nepalese team based in Kathmandu who helped to reconfigure website at such a competitive price despite humungous amount of time the team had to set aside in its reconfiguration with new functionalities.
Our recent ANMDA AGM conference in Melbourne was a very successful one where we not only had good CME with excellent educational value from speakers within Australia as well as from our counterparts in Nepal. I would like to thank unreservedly the organising team in Victoria without whose help, would not have been possible to conduct such meeting at such a high level. We had a lively social networking session, Nepalese cultural programmes from among us. The other notable feature of this event was with the enthusiasm shown from our counterparts in Nepal to tie up with our organisation for collaborative works in Nepal.
Honourable health minister of Nepal Mr Pradeep Paudel addressed our event urging ANMDA in Nepalese health sector development related collaborative works which I would like to remind you all that this is in fact one of ANMDA’s mission.
While we celebrate our progress, we remain mindful of the challenges facing our organisation. Issues such as timely membership renewal, getting financial support for our organisational activities and ensuring all administrative works get carried out on time. We are looking at how best to tackle these issues at organisational level, whether to implement this idea of “life membership” to reduce our administrative workload and also boost our organisational financial health. Your feedbacks, suggestions would be highly appreciated and I would encourage everyone to come forward and actively participate in such discussions. We will not be implementing any major changes without majority of us supporting any such ideas.
As we move forward, our focus remains on fostering collaboration, continuing education, and professional support. We encourage all members to participate in upcoming events, including webinars, state wide meetings, and take advantage of new resources available through our association website. I urge each of you to stay engaged, share your insights, and support one another in our collective mission to advance ANMDA’s mission of uniting all doctors across Australasia and create an atmosphere where we could learn from each other and for mutual help esp. for newcoming doctors.
I am immensely proud of our collective achievements. I look forward to seeing you all in our forthcoming webinar (date TBC soon) and in person in our annual conference in Brisbane on the 8th of Nov 2025. Please keep checking in our website for the details and make a note of this date in your diary. Our calendar of events for this year is going to be filled up soon with various educational and networking opportunities. Please forward us any topics that you would like it covered in our future events or even if you wanted to take part as a speaker.
As promised, I will keep you updated on further developments in my future emails.
With gratitude and warm regards,
Dr. Milan Piya (NSW) President ANMDA
